Changes to Jealous Trait

Usually the complaint with Sims 4 traits is that they're not strong enough to make a difference. That's the exact opposite for the Jealous trait! While I enjoy the trait overall, it's rather annoying for my Sim to be constantly tense because he can not immediately see his partner. It would make sense if the partner was not on the active lot, but when the jealous Sim is upstairs and his partner is downstairs, he should not be worried about where she is!

It would be great if the Jealous trait could be toned down just a tad, specifically: when the jealous Sim and his/her partner are on the same active lot, he/she should not get the Tense moodlet.

  • Yea i tired that trait like okay i give try she then became insane knowing her bf right in fount of her and she was too stressed to do anything so i agree being change of jealous would better was changed to obsessed instead cause that would make lot more sense to me.
  • I think a good way to appease here is to make the current Jealous trait into Obsessive instead, then create a new, toned down version that is Jealous trait but also more complex, also covering social and familial jealousy as well.

I like this trait and play it often. I have legacy families that inherit a trait from their parents, and it's one I always pass along. It creates the opportunity to make your sim's life quite chaotic, especially with the hot headed or mean trait combined with it.

My sim was tense from not being around her boyfriend. Her neighbor started making noise and my sim becomes angry (doesn't have hothead or mean trait, but jealousy/ambitious/creative) and ends up pounding on the door, insulting the neighbor, and (with a little nudge from me) got in a fight and became enemies with her neighbor which was actually a whim. Playing with the Jealousy trait open up so much mischievous ways to play that usually don't occur to me.

The jealousy trait makes your sim very insecure, making them vulnerable to negative moods, which really opens up my gameplay. I love this family because it forces me to play out of my comfort zone and get my sims into sticky situations. I tend to play "perfect world" too much and many of these situations I've never tried, either. Next goal is try to cheat on a jealous sim, and see how that plays out. My poor sims, lol...

My Clemson-Frampton household is just that. Al is has the creative/jealous/ambitious combination, and it does get interesting like when he randomly slaps his wife for talking with friends, or catches her flirting, at my insistence, with another sim. The situation got worse after the last time which came down to a divorce, but as time went on the feelings were forgotten and they eloped and are back together again until next time...
