Create-a-Car, based in NFS Underground 2

I mean cars aren't a member of the family, they're objects.
Why would they use a create-a-sim type of system when no other object does?
I can easily imagine how irritating it'd be having to jump in and out of CAS every time you wanted to change a swatch on an object.
