Yes! I find this very annoying too. We can't remove tiles above stairs to make the hole bigger, at least without placing a fence around it first, and that fence breaks the whole room...

this is seriously the thing that i drives me crazy the most. for the love of god, could they please make it easier to make a landing. this shouldn't even be an issue.

I found a good way to make an upstairs room, delete the floor, and still make a landing for my stairs. Go ahead and delete the whole floor. To build a new one, select your deck options, assuming it's completely flat, lay it out the way you want. It creates the floor, no glitches (that i've experienced). you don't have to worry about building something just to delete it, and you can build walls all around it. It really works out great for me.

I agree this needs to be fixed! Such a simple tool and we don't have it! I don't remember any of the other sims games not having the ability to delete single floor tiles. I guess they just over-looked this feature.
