Hi everyone. š This is the continuation of a story I started back in March on the old Vanilla forum. If you were a regular follower of the 'What Happened In You Game Today' thread, you already know ...
Where does the time go? Itās only been a short time since I last sat down to write, but it feels like forever. So much has been happening. All of it exciting. From watching, and guiding, Kya through all her little milestones, to the farm shop, to Treās parents. The best place to start is with our little diamond.
Kya has been growing like a weed. Sheās been passing milestones so fast. I just want to tell her, āslow down girl, this isnāt a race.ā Weāre so happy and excited to see her progress. At the same time we both know time is going to fly by. We want to savor the little, sweet moments.
Okay, there are some moments, like all parents, we'd rather forget.
She quickly learned how to hold herself up. How to roll from her tummy to her back, and back to tummy. Before we knew it she'd learned how to sit up.
Being able to sit up has allowed me to start weening her and introducing her to baby food. I love how her little eyes light up when Tre or I do the airplane thing.
Sheās been so receptive to new foods. She likes almost anything you offer her. Even when she gets one she doesnāt like, she doesnāt get fussy. No surprise her favorite is ice cream. She's my daughter after all.
Just the other day she learned how to pull herself up to stand. It wonāt be long until sheās walking. I suppose that's when we really have our work cut out for us.
Kyaās old enough, and strong enough now, to take her first trip. We're taking her to see Treās parents in Del Sol Valley. Itās just a two hour flight. Going to see my parents would be an almost six hour flight. Kyaās not ready for a long flight like that yet. We'll be staying for a couple nights.
In my last entry a few weeks ago I hinted at an idea Tre's parents had mentioned to us. They said they were considering a move to Chestnut Ridge. Tre and I have mixed emotions. We'd love to have them closer. It would be nice to have at least one set of grandparents involved in Kya's life. This came out of the blue and they haven't mentioned it again since. We're hoping we can find an opening to bring the subject up again while we're there. I'd hate to think Tre or I did or said something that might make them feel like we're pressuring them into this. As wonderful as it sounds I can't help having some worries.
The last bit of news to share is about the farm shop. We're just about ready to have our grand opening. We've had a couple soft launches to smooth out as many problems as possible before the grand opening. I think we're in good shape. I still have some decorating I'd like to do but we can do that as we go.
The shop is set up with my produce on one sideā¦
ā¦and Treās nectars on the other.
We have a little patio area out back where customers can hang out and socialize. Eventually we plan to host nectar tastings, small parties and maybe the odd community event there.
We have plenty of space to add on. Who knows what else we might add in the future? Our grand opening is planned for Saturday morning. That gives us a couple days to unwind after the trip.
That's all for now. I really need to get busy and finish packing for the trip.
Congratulations on Kya on achieving all her infant milestones! They do grow up so fast. The shop looks great, especially with showcasing both Auroraās produce and Treās Nectars. It would be great to have Treās parents nearby, I canāt wait to see how the trip goes!
