You may hate me right now, but what's playable in farm? Seriously.
We have gardens, we have most popular home pets, we have "village stuff" like laundry pack...
Cows? Only for milk, because we don't want to kill them, right? And they will be like bees, like newborns, because I do not think, that the producers make them more intelligent as a hamster.
Horses? Without open world we could get something like skiing area - take your horse and ride for a simhour, in the circle! Maybe some fence to train your horse - that's all.
Pigs? Please, we all know why people have pigs, right?
I do not believe, that this exp pack will be more interesting than mermaids, who even can't diving.
Yes, they will build pretty exp pack, but again there will be lots of disappointed, bored people, because it will be another repetitive clicker with lots of "rabbit holes", easy interactions and lazy solutions.
And please forgive me, but the Sims (as characters) will be still the same - some traits, two or three special interactions for a trait, no proper connections between families or even inside family (my Sim died in the jungle and his family - at home in Vampire village - do not have a simple moodlet because of his death).
I'm very happy when the people are happy to, and of you want a farm - go ahead. But please look on the direction of this game and consider - do we need more - right now - attraction system, better whims system (yes, the whims are dying, I know), maybe education pack for OUR SIMS, to make them more interesting, more personalized, more playable? Then this game instantly becomes funnier, just better, even without special careers like farmer.
Sorry, guys. :(
Regards!
Personally I need a farming pack, because this is actually two of my main Characters legacies we're dealing with. Vincent Hogarth (In my medieval Save) is the head of a Farming family, supplies the Kingdom of Briarheart with food. Oliver Bourbon (More Modern, between 1860s-Today) and he is one
Essentially more crops: Wheat, Corn, Pumpkins, Cocoa Beans, Cinnamon, Sarsaparilla, and more!
One of my characters, the Bourbons, I already created is destined to own and control a farm, winery, and Brewery. Oliver also owns a Tavern, so he sells his beer and wine at his tavern and other restaurants in the city, and across the nation.
So I need Wine making and Beer Brewing as skills. Yes we already have Gardening, But I want to put my produce to more uses also.
and that challenge of Using, well it takes about 500-800+ grapes to make 1 bottle of wine. so that would put mass production to good use.
and i just want my sim and his farm workers to go through the whole process from Harvesting Grapes to storing the wine in kegs, and letting it age.
and these elements could influence future content (ie: keg parties, Harvest hosting festival as traditions, bake offs and pie eating contests)
