I would love some kind of story progression in Sims 4, but I think we should have the option to select, not only the sim, but also the sort of things that we want our sims to do autonomously. I say this because, if you look at the huge range and variety of "autonomous"/"no autonomous" CC mods available, it is clear that some of us want to micromanage every aspect of our sims lives, while others want to manage only certain aspects and not others. If EA were to introduce a one-size-fits-all kind of story progression, hardly anyone would be satisfied and there would be complaints galore.
