Don't know where to put this (Terrain paints)

I'm not sure where to put this, but I'm probably being thick. Before the terrain tools the terrain paint had a yellow outline so you could see where you were painting. Now there doesn't seem to be one (plus the smallest size of terrain tool brush is too big but that's another moan). I'm not bashing the patch, I'm having a ball trying to build a previously unbuildable house, but the terrain paint outline (or lack thereof) is driving me crazy. I currently have no mods or CC (aside from the garage doors which I've removed and checked) (I deleted them for the patch) and I deleted my cache. Am I just being thick and have missed the option or has it bugged out on me!

No outline.

  • Arg, I absolutely hate trying to paint straight lines (Fake driveway) when I can't see what I'm doing. It's taken much longer than it should have. Making the blimmin' driveway (raised up and smoothed terrain to get a slope that covers the foundation) only took a few minutes, painting it at least 10!
  • I see an outline for drawing. It looks just like the icon (square or circle). It's not yellow but a grey colour for me. Maybe you need to clear your cache files or something. :)
  • I did that before I installed the patch, but who knows, I’ll makesure cc is cleaned out and clear cache and repair and see if that works. I get the grey line for terrain manipulation, but not the painting!
  • There seems to be an issue if you have laptop mode on.

  • I agree smallest size brush is now too large. IMHO smallest size should be *one* tile
  • Posted on the answers site. Re brush size the sim supply posted a tutorial and I forget what the keys were. I 'think' it was shift +scroll wheel, and it got the brush size right down. If it wasn't shift, it was alt or ctrl. They all do something.

  • There's probably another way that someone will figure out. It's still a case of guess the size for me because that doesn't have guides either, but after a bit of trial and error I managed to get the drive sort of smooth!

  • As far as I can tell the smallest brush size is the same it's always been, one quarter tile. It is in my game anyway. :)

ps. just realised you're talking about the terrain "tool" in reference to the brush. I call that a shovel as that is the icon. :)
