The thing is, most the stuff that came out last year was already fairly well in development when the world went into lockdown. Now it's a year and a half later, they're still mostly working from home, and all the little delays due to not getting immediate feedback from their co-workers because they're not working face to face are starting to pile up.
I think we've got at least another six months to a year of slow releases once they all get back to working in the office more - and they may never go back to working in the offices full time, as a lot of businesses have learned that remote work is indeed viable.
