Expansion / Game pack discussion
After the launch of Sims 4 University; we’ll be nearing the end of the more traditional content that we see in every iteration of the franchise and whilst I think there is a little more that could be repeated, we are heading towards uncertain and exciting times with regards of fresh expansions and packs which we’ve not had before.
What do you think will be added / what do you think is most likely?
Conventional 📜
- Cars/ Vehicles 🚗
I don’t personally understand the demand for cars in the closed Sims 4 world but if Guru’s are paying any attention; I think they will add vehicles in the form of a game pack similar to the Sims 3’s ‘Fast Lane pack’ to satisfy the community’s demand.
- Generations / Family pack 👩👧👧
Although we have Sims 4 parenthood pack; I don’t think that fully satisfied the need for family gameplay options to rival the Sims 3 generations so I would expect (and hope) to see an expansion or game pack based around family living including an overhaul for elders & babies to add more depth to their life stages as well as the Sims 2 style memories added would be amazing!
- Supernatural 🐺
Given we already have Aliens, Ghosts, vampires, mermaids, spellcasters (and robots with university coming) I’m not sure there is enough appetite to warrant a full Supernatural expansion or even game pack. However, it’s possible they will find a way to add Werewolves into another pack as they’ve been a common fixture in previous iterations.
- Hobbies / Free Time 🎷🎲🏆
I think a very probable expansion is one revolving around the Sims’ free and hobbies which add more skills and gameplay opportunities. It was never my favourite pack but I understand why it would make sense.
- Brand collaborations 🤳🏽🛍
Given the underwhelming Moschino reaction; I’m not sure how quickly EA would want to jump back into this area. However; if they were to partner up with businesses again; I wouldn’t mind seeing another Ikea / H&M collaboration. I think these brands fit quite well into Sims aesthetic and would be more appropriate.
- Celebration / Festivities pack 🎄
I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a stuff pack with more holiday and celebration content. I think most of us would welcome that?

- Farming 🐷🌳
After university; Farming has been one of the most requested packs for years so I definitely think we’ll see some kind of country-living themed pack with Farming gameplay. Expansion or game pack possibly. I think this would also be the most relevant pack to add werewolves into.
- Sci-Fi 🚀
One of my biggest wants for the Sims 4 is to give more depth to the Aliens and Astronaut career as they were added but then kinda forgotten about? This pack would vastly improve the gameplay elements to solve this issue as well as adding a new dimension to the game. We could have a sci-fi world which looks a little like the Magic realm not coming from an occult angle.
- Time Travel 🏙🌅
I suppose this has kind of been done in the Sims 3 into the future; but I’d love to see an expansion which adds 2 new worlds. One futurama-esque and one from medieval times. I think this kind of expansion would mostly likely be at the last stage of the Sims 4 as the final expansion though. It would be great to have that kind of extreme difference from the clothes and world appearances.

I’m not sure how likely / Beneficial this would be in the Sims 4 but I’d quite like a pack which adds the Element of community and events which affect the Sims in that world for example political parties which tax Sims more on their earnings or increase household bills etc. I honestly can’t see The Sims going down this route but I do think it would help the political career have more value. Natural disasters and community parties could also be added just to give players more incentive to get their Sims outside of their homes would be good In my opinion because I’m quite guilty of just confining my Sims to their homes because I hate loading screens 😂
