Wow, wow, wow okay let me try and answer haha. I stepped away for dinner and bam!
Elia pretty much hit the nail on the head!
You will choose one of the species above, create a model that looks fitting, give her a backstory that is also fitting, and for this assignment create a photo however you want that's influenced by the traits of your chosen species.
Like Elia said, if you choose a Gwyllion, your model should look ghostly - pale, perhaps transparent, she can be a bit of an outsider and wild even. Future assignments would then be influenced by her traits. So like if assignment 2 were "Reign Supreme" and asked your model to represent her version of a kingdom with her reigning as queen, your image should be as required but darker and having elements from Gwyllion lore. She doesn't have to be haggard and ugly :)
A pixie might have a colorful and playful Kingdom, a dryad should have an earthy feel, asrai should be water based and at night since sunlight kills her, etc.
@Ava: Yes, that would be fine. She could be a mix of all elements.
@Lady: You are only writing a backstory for this first assignment based on the lore of whatever species you choose. No other written stories will be required.
