Got my assignment!
The forest has been my home for as long as the sunlight has filtered through the branches bringing warmth to shadowy nooks and the moon's light sparkles at night in the clearings. I hear the trees whispering in the wind, their leaves dancing and branches swaying to a music that only I can understand. Sometimes, I dance to the music as well as it surrounds me and stirs a feeling of incredible happiness deep inside. Their pain brings me to my knees when the coarse, foul-smelling humans invade our tranquility, stealing our brothers and sisters with their sharp metal tools. We bow our heads in sadness when one of our own is taken away for a life of torment among them. The animals of the forest are my family and we are as one sharing our passion for solitude and joy in our freedom to just be ourselves and live our lives as we choose. The sun and the rain bring joy and life, the night brings peace and rest with the sounds of the streams meandering around the rocks and banks in the distance; a lullaby of the forest.
