My mother was of the air, and my father was from the water. There are not many fairies that end up with a mixture of talents, as most tend to stay with their own kind, but I got to be special, I guess. Elemental fairies are the most common kind, so one takes any opportunity they have to stand out. Thanks to my parents’ respective talents, I manipulate both the water and the air. As it turns out, it’s a pretty amazing combination.
Elemental fairies are sometimes referred to as “Nature’s Angels,” and I believe that to be the truth. We all do different things, but our collective goal is always the same. We change the seasons, create masterpieces out of our surroundings, all for the mortals to enjoy. Naturally, we don’t get any credit, it’s all just as well. As Elementals, we are near to humans quite often, and have found it’s better if they don’t see us- there have been some terrible rumors about certain ones that pin things with wings to cards and put them on walls. I don’t know if this is true, but I would prefer not to find out.
Because I have the ability to manipulate water, traditionally my job would be to manage the oceans, keep the rivers from running dry in otherwise barren landscapes, sprinkle dew on the grass in the morning and on the spider webs, that sort of thing. If I solely belonged to the air, my job would be to create winds that blow the leaves down in the fall or the spreads the dandelion seeds in the summer, or sometimes I might simply sit among the clouds. All air elementals adore being in the sky, or else in very high places. But since I have skills with both elements, I use both in combination as best as I can. My favorite places to be are waterfalls- high waterfalls that nearly touch the clouds themselves. I also love the rain that falls through the air down to the ground. My talents are a bit unconventional, but over time I’ve figured out how to use them to my advantage and to the advantage of the earth, as all Elementals eventually do. We love making things more beautiful, and there I am no different.
