Famous lovers challenge
Hi everybody! My name is Lucrezia and I've been playing The Sims 4 for almost five years now. Recently I saw on Pinterest many ideas for legacy challenges, and while I was scrolling through them, I thought:"Why not create my own?"
This challenge is based on famous lovers, both from history and fiction (though most of them fall into the second category). I want everyone to be able to play, so no specific packs or custom content is needed. Having the base game is enough.
Below I'll list all the rules of the challenge. If you find any mistakes, it's either because 1) my first language is not English or 2) I got distracted (I've been very tired lately).
Any insult, offense, threats, harassment, bullying and similar will not be allowed. Beware of what you write.
Generation 1: Romeo and Juliet
Your and your partner's families can't stand each other. Their altercations have been a constant part of both of your lives since you can remember, and you never knew what peace was. That is, until you found each other. Because of the hate between your two families, you meet in secret and haven't told anyone about your relationship (apart from one trusted friend)
The story begins when both of the founders are teens.
Rules:
- Create two households made of two parents and at least one teen sim. They're your founders
- The families are enemies with each other except for the two founders. They're neutral about it (Edit: you can modify the families' relationship with each other using the modifyrelationship cheat. This is the only time you're allowed to use cheats)
- The teen sims start dating each other. Their respective families must not know (at least at first), only one good friend for each member of the couple can know about them dating
- One day they get caught, after which a big fight with their parents ensue. If you have Parenthood, have the parents ground them by not letting them out of the house except for school.
- Once the founders become Young Adults, they move in together and get married. Their respective families are not invited, only their friends can attend. They never speak to their parents ever since
- The young couple has a baby, but they die when the child is a toddler
- After that, one set of grandparents adopts the orphan
Generation 2: Paolo and Francesca
After the death of your mom and dad, you have been brought up by your grandparents. You always wanted to make them proud, and so you put all of your effort in keeping high grades and mastering your abilities. Now that you have finished university, they want you to marry a rich and successful Sim to continue the family's legacy.
This generation starts when the Sim loses their parents
Rules:
- Get an A in school
- Reach level 7 in three or more skills and level 10 in at least one skill
- Go to university and keep a high GPA (B or more)
- Graduate with a GPA of B or more
- Meet a rich Sim and get engaged to them
- Said sim must have a sibling who's Young Adult or older (if they haven't, you can create them)
- Fall in love with your future spouse's sibling, break off the engagement, and get married to them instead
- Have at least one child
Generation 3: Guinevere and Lancelot
You married your first love, but that didn't go as you planned. Your parents advised you against it, saying you were too different to work out, but you didn't listen. Now you realize they were right. You and your spouse have fallen out of love with each other and have become strangers. That's when someone else enters the picture...
This generation starts when the Sim is a teenager
Rules:
- Date only one person as a teen
- You and your partner have one or more opposite traits
- Get married to them once you both become Young Adults
- Have one child, then drift apart some time after their birth
- Fall in love with one of your spouse's friends
- Break up with your spouse and move in with your lover
Generation 4: Marc Anthony and Cleopatra
Because of your parents' disastrous marriage, you didn't believe in love for the first part of your life. You thought that every relationship was bound to fail, so you decided to focus on your career instead. You don't have time for daydreaming, and while some want to find their ideal partner, you want to climb to the top. Will you change idea and find someone or will you become a workaholic?
This generation starts when the Sim is a Young Adult
Rules:
- Reach level 7 in the charisma skill by the time you become Young Adult
- Work in the business career (politics if you have City Living) and reach either level 7 or 10. Never have relationships until then
- Once you achieve one of those levels in your career, you can start a relationship
- Get married and have at least one child
Generation 5: Anne Boleyn and Henry the Eighth
Having a relationship with a married person is complicated. It's even more complicated when said person is married to your boss. You both would like to start your life together, but your partner's spouse is refusing to grant them a divorce. How will things end?
This generation starts when the Sim is a Young Adult
Rules:
- Have the ambitious trait
- Reach level 5 in two instruments of your choice
- Get at least a B in school
- As a Young Adult, start a relationship with your boss' spouse (if they haven't one you can create them)
- Your partner is granted a divorce after 28 sim days from the start of your relationship
- Get married to your partner and have one child
- Get divorced after you catch your partner with another person
Generation 6: Anna Karenina and count Vronskij
You seem to have the perfect life: a good spouse (who's also wealthy), a rich social life, a magnificent house and always attending or throwing parties. But happiness isn't part of the equation: your marriage is just a façade and your friendships are superficial in nature. What you really wish for is to be loved, but it seems that's impossible. Or so you thought...
This generation starts when the Sim becomes a Young Adult
Rules:
- Marry a rich Sim. Never divorce them
- Attend or throw parties once a week
- At one of these parties, meet a Sim and later start a relationship with them
- Your spouse catches you. From that moment on, your relationship with them decreases
- Have a child with your lover
- Go on vacation with your partner
- After you come back, start fighting with them
- The Sim dies from fury following an argument with their lover
Generation 7: Marguerite and Armand Duval
You're a free spirit who loves fun and doesn't want to be tied down. You party often with your many friends, and are almost always outside of your house. This caused a good deal of distress to your parent, who thought it would be better to focus on your studies instead of partying all the time. He also would have liked for you to settle down, but that wasn't in your plans. You didn't want a conventional life, and instead of entering a serious relationship you preferred to date around.
This generation starts when the Sim is a teenager
Rules:
- Attend or throw parties every weekend
- Have lots of friends
- Date around and never enter a committed relationship before meeting your future partner
- Once you become a Young Adult, don't attend college
- Meet a Sim at a party, start a relationship and move in with them
- Never marry
- Have a child
- The Sim dies shortly after the child is born
Generation 8: Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
After your mother's death, your father isolated himself from the world. He managed to get back together with the help of one of their friends, who he later married. However, he became overprotective and never let you leave the house.
This generation starts when the sim is a Young Adult
Rules:
- Have a negative relationship with your dad and be enemies with your parent's friend and later spouse
- Leave the house only for school, and never attend or throw parties
- Move out once you become a Young Adult
- After you have moved out, get into the political (if you have City Living) or the influencer career path
- Fall in love with a colleague and get married
- Have at least one child
Generation 9: King Charles and Queen Camilla
You're the heir to a succesful family and are expected to become as influential as them. That also means marrying the right person, and your parents have picked for you the perfect candidate: rich, well-connected and part of an important family. And that's a problem, because you already have a relationship with another person. You told your parents that you'd rather marry your partner, but they don't approve of the relationship and advise you to end it. What will you do?
This generation starts when the Sim is a Young Adult.
Rules:
- Enter into the same career path of your parents
- Start a relationship with a Sim your family disapproves
- Your parents pair you up with another sim while you're still in a relationship
- Get married to the sim your parents paired you up with and break up with your lover
- Have a child with your spouse
- Start dating your lover again in secret while still married to your spouse
- Have your spouse catch you and let them start their own affair
- Divorce only at the middle of your Adult life
- Marry your lover
Generation 10: Princess Catherine and Prince William
Your parent's marriage was strictly a matter of business, and they turned to other people to find the happiness that lacked between them. Because of this, once you became a Young Adult you never let your family choose a spouse for you, deciding to favor love instead of money and prestige when it comes to choose a partner.
This generation starts when the Sim is a Young Adult
Rules:
- Have the Faithful trait
- Go to college and find a partner while there
- Don't marry until you have become an Adult and graduated
- Never cheat on your spouse
