Feedback: New feature request: cheats for scenarios (or UI cheats in general)
I'd like to see a list of cheats for scenarios be added to the game. If something goes wrong - i.e. if a checkbox fails to trigger even when I think it should trigger based on in-game actions - there's a cheat for that. I can go along with my game, having fun with my precious time away from work.
When something went wrong with a scenario for me (the explore the night scenario still shows 0/5 days even though my sim has been awake for 5 days, there was no way for me to easily mark the task as accomplished in-game. Instead, I'm stuck. I went down a rabbit hole of online help forums leading me to a bug report site that, frankly, wanted WAY too much work and documentation and back-peddling on my part. I'm not a QA tester. I have a few hours on weekends to play a game. That's it. Having easily accessible cheats on hand - as they are with other aspects of the game - will make my life easier if and/or when something goes wrong. If we had scenario cheats, I could just breeze past. I'd be a slightly annoyed player, but still more or less happy. I just did a scenario and I really liked it, so I tried another one. The first one worked without incident. I went from feeling really positive about the game to feeling really annoyed because I put hours and hours into a scenario and I have no way of winning. There is no workaround.
Scenarios are a great addition to the game. They're really fun. We just need cheats so we can by-pass any issues as we play. Now, I feel angry and not sure I want to play the sims for awhile. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Easy access to a "complete scenario" cheat would be a good workaround.
Another option would be to add UI cheats as a sims 4 feature. I know there's a mod for that, but I think it would be useful to be able to check off something that isn't triggering properly without having to install a mod. Sometimes, bugs and glitches happen. A quick and intuitive way to bypass those bugs and glitches would be great.
