You're right. Asher's definitely not empathetic, but because of the sentiments system he does have some empathy (for his daughters Ennik and Elmire). Unfortunately, the couple is already fairly fractured but this is not necessarily the end, maybe. They were being sweet and having a good time and then, as you know, it went a bit off.
