Asher and Adelise’s relationship is friendly, but it’s a little cold and I feel like many may wonder, “Why is she with him?” In the early parts, I doubt that Asher seems like someone Adelise (or most other people) would fall in love with. I’ve always felt that they give off arranged couple/marriage of convenience vibes. My legacy is strongly influenced by US-culture, but there are probably small moments where readers (especially American readers) are caught off guard by another culture’s unexpected influence. I don’t think that this is necessarily one of those times, but this reminds me that there are moments like that.
More of Asher/Adelise's background will be revealed slowly.

I like your observations about Asher's conversation with Liliana. That's the takeaway I expected, but I'm curious if you'll feel the same about Observations 1-3 after Part 2. Originally, everything was meant to be together, but it felt too long to keep all on one page. Normally, I would wait at least a few days to follow up, but because I felt the cut would influence how the chapter was read, I posted both parts back-to-back.
It's very late the same Sim day/going into the early morning hours of the next day. I drag out 1 Sim day to 3-5 different chapters... :D Adelise said she was tired. She left. He went to check on Ennik (to make sure Ennik was sleeping) and after a couple quick stops in other rooms, he went to his office after Liliana.
