I don't see how anyone can read multiple SimLit and always keep up with releases. I don't intend for my blog to go anywhere anytime soon, so everyone can read at their own pace. No need to ever mention your pace. I am always behind on SimLit myself…
Just gonna insert my usual 'love the screenshots' comment here XD
Thank you! <3
Oooooooh my goodness...The thing with Adelise. So if she were to stray far away enough from him she'd just die? That's awful. At least that's how I understood it.
It's unclear and confusing in the chapter, but I'm going to clarify now that the answer to your question is no—it's not quite that bad. The idea is that “Asher’s wife” (however someone wants to interpret that) is immortal like him. It’s not about physical distance and it doesn’t really matter where she is or who she’s with. Asher doesn't know the finer details, but the basics are that nothing will happen to Adelise unless they technically divorce and even if they divorce, it's not clear what will happen. Asher has his issues, but they're not to the extent that he would want her to die. The two of them may be a bad match because he's mean or inconsiderate, but he's not a cold-hearted killer. If she wants to leave, she can leave. The problem is that actually/legally breaking their marriage contract and divorcing might have serious consequences. If she wants to try that instead of simple separation, he might go along with it, but he would never threaten her with divorce or bring it up on his own (unless he turns evil and wants to ruin his relationship with everyone in his family which seems extremely unlikely).
'I won't stop trying' is good and all, but the harsh reality is that everyone has a breaking point and even the most understanding person can't go on tolerating and tolerating.
Agreed. Trying isn't always enough. He's had someone walk away before, but he might just be lucky enough to avoid it a second time. We'll see.
