For Rent Residential Rental Preparation Thread

I'll be busy with my historical save for a long time, so I'm going to experiment with cottage living animals and giant crops on community grounds, while the "apartment units" themselves are log houses (more like huts).
I also have a workhouse/poor house in my town that I might convert. Lower floor would be the workshops (shared) and upper floor the individual flats. In both cases a played sim would own the complex.
