Simmingal brings up some valid concerns. My other thought is ... what about contacts? I know many people who wear/have worn contacts, which means... what? a "blank" glasses icon that represents contacts? I guess that could work.
But, as for the skills... it really depends so much in reality on why you need glasses as to how much needing them interferes with skills or the ability to maneuver the world. I need glasses for distance reading and that's about it. Right now, as I type, I'm not wearing glasses. When I get up to go to bed, I won't be wearing glasses. A sim based on me wouldn't be any clumsier because I need glasses, because my needing glasses doesn't keep me from navigating more or less anywhere unless I need to read a sign. I only wear them when I watch TV if I'm expecting to need to read something on the screen.
And while it's great for the occasional comedy piece, it gets dull fast if everyone is the same level of "nearly blind without 'em" for glasses and the same joke plays over and over and over again. (and it's a kinda cringeworthy joke as is.)
