Help with Meditation Labyrinth?

I tried building a meditation labyrinth in my game that is similar to one I saw IRL. I used lavender bushes to define the "walls" defining the path, but it didn't work the way I'd hoped.

A meditation labyrinth is not a maze. There is a single path that starts at the perimeter, winds its way around the maze, and ends in the center. My goal is to have a Sim follow that path from the outside to the center. However, when I use lavender bushes, my Sim just walked over/through the bushes, rather than following the path.

What is the least obtrusive, most "garden-like" thing I can use to define a path like this, and have the Sims actually follow the path? Lavender bushes weren't "wall-like" enough to work, even if that is what was used in the one I saw IRL.

For reference, I'm playing a vanilla game with no packs, cc, or mods (yet). And here's the simple labyrinth design that I based mine on.

Thanks in advance.

  • I did a little experimentation with the shortest "half walls" available and came up with this:

It works pretty well except that the Sim jogs through the labyrinth. What I had in mind was something closer to the "mindful walk" that characters with the Practice Makes Perfect trait are able to do. Except instead of a "mindful walk" around the neighborhood, they could do a "mindful walk" through the meditation labyrinth.

And rather than a short "half wall", it would be nice it the maze used lavender bushes or something else more natural. But I have a minimally working labyrinth.

  • Note that this is basically the most compact layout that still feels like a meditation labyrinth. There are much bigger layouts (more "rings" around the center), but dropping from 3 rings to 2 rings would mean that you could only make a single U-turn at most.

  • You might be able to make fences in the layout you want, then do CTRL+SHIFT+C to open console, then type bb.moveobjects in order to freely clip the bushes into the fence to hide it? that way your sims are properly corralled by the fences while having the bushes hide them.

    Hope this helps!
