How do you like to play your game?

I like trying different challenges, but mostly I create a sim, build their home, and I need to have a story in my head I want to play and try, otherwise it gets really boring fairly quickly. And as much as I would like to play generationally, I never really manage to get past the second generation, and I always somehow end up with like ten different save files.
