I do not own my rewards?

Just found a bug. I thought this was only with dust bunnies but it also happens when I offer gifts to foxes and they give me treats.

The dust bunnies and foxes give me items but I cannot pick them up? The screen says I do not own the items. Anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?
