Sims/households follow the same structure, guide on Lori Sims:

The easiest way of getting the right files are to save the household/build again, and then sort the Tray folder on Most Recent Changed; copying all the files with the same, and latest, timestamp.
In my playsave I try to keep the Tray folder empty, and instead keep the files for my builds elsewhere on the computer, for backup. When the builds/sims have been placed in in a particular savegame, the files in Tray folder can be deleted without effecting those. As long as a backup is saved elsewhere - the current files in Tray folder are not needed; and may effect performance if too many. - If there is I haven't found it yet.
