I've been getting better with building my lots lately, those of you who have seen my previous builds have been pretty impressed so far but I'm going to attempt what feels like a massive project for me. It may take me a few hours to do the lot alone however,I just finished watching Season 1 of American Horror Story and I want to build the house. (and also it's ghostly occupants when I'm done)I've researched quite a few reference images, including Sims 4 builds based on the house so I'm fairly confident it can be done to some extent. However I really really want to try my best to make it look authentic so I can update this thread later with the finished product.I'm wondering though, when making lots based on tv shows, what does everyone else do? Do you get full pictures of the outside and then do whatever with the inside, or is there a resource website I can use somewhere that has reference images and blueprints for the homes?Also for every ones benefit I do know all about the cheats I can use for my builds to make them look good so I'm just after resources or information on how to get really good references for future builds.If I eventually find what I'm looking for I'll post back here with information just in case others might be looking for something similar.

The WIP is looking great! :) It is a scary house ! It looks great how you have furnished the basement.

Thanks Rose! Its a difficult build but its going good so far. I had to stop last night because I had to sleep, but I have the first floor and basement done and and a few rooms on the second floor.

Double posting to let @rosemow and @AbyArashi know the house is now complete. I just need to move some victims... er... I mean tenants, into it to playtest the house and see if it's all accessible. Thanks. So far I've found some blue prints and I have the first floor mapped out I just need to furnish it. And also turns out the house (Rosenheim Manor) from American Horror Story is actually a real house that's got a real estate listing so I'd say I got lucky.

I usually reserch for the blueprint of the house! I think the blueprint of the haunted house of AHS 1 is somewhere on the internet because I wanted to recreate it too and I did a bit of research about it, so it shouldn't be hard to find it! They are a huge help to understand how the house plan works because exterior pics can be tricky sometimes

It's is such a big and intrincate house so honestly I think you are being pretty fast at it, it's amazing! (or maybe I'm just super slow when building which is pretty possible haha) I can't wait to see those pics! <3

This is a close up shot of the living room area, I'm not going to do pics of all the rooms in the house just yet (takes too long)

This is the first floor. I've also just made the basement since the stairs down are on the first floor. Bottom left is Ben's study/office/clinic, beside it is the "library" which I don't think was actually pictured in the show but I might adjust it if I come across a picture as I'm going, Middle far left is the dining room, above that is the kitchen, the tiny room that is a part of the kitchen is supposed to be the pantry, and the tiny room above the main hallway is the coat room, bottom right is the Foyer with the staircase (the one where Ben met his unfortunate end), and the front porch, above the porch is the living area.

I haven't sorted out the back porch yet but that's really just a part of the detail of the outside parts of the house that I'm not focusing on just yet.

It's looking amazing!! I love it <3 The creepy feeling is on point. And as long as I can remember no, the library is not protrayed in the show. I'm excited about seeing how the basement will turn out!

I winged the basement a bit, I'm probably gonna go back to it a bit later and add a few more things but this is basically it.

Not true to the show because the basement shots were all just super shaky. However the blueprints say the basement has a laundry and an empty room from what I can read.

This is the "stuff" room, as you guessed it's full of "stuff". But I've filled it with things that kinda remind me of the ghostly occupants of the house.
