Likes and dislikes ideas

Occult activities such as casting spells and using vampire powers (unless that is actually in the game if you have the corresponding packs, then this point is moot.) Maybe you have a vampire who really, really dislikes being a vampire, and gets sad or angry when using his powers. Or maybe you have a witch who loves magic so much that she uses it for everything, and gets frustrated when she has to mop up a puddle the old-fashioned way.

If it's not limited to activities, then occults themselves could be on the list, too. I always found it strange that there's no way of making sims afraid of or totally into, say, aliens. Every sim basically reacts the same to occults doing their thing around them. Likes and dislikes could solve that.

My suggestion would be food related. Instead of having a particular dish being a sims favorite (that would be a lot of food across all the packs), how about picking favorite tastes in food like:
- Sweet
- Sour
- Bitter
- Salty
- Savory
- Spicy
- Robust

Most foods and drinks fall into these categories anyway.

Based sub-categories the game already has:

TV Channels
Movie Genres
There already is a system for movie genre preference, so maybe they can add 'Movies' as a TV Channel like/dislike option
Temperature/Seasons/Weather Types
This also has it's own preference system from Seasons, but the social wheel is already so cluttered it could be cleaned up by attaching this to likes/dislikes.
Food
Dine Out recognizes categories for dishes like Italian/Seafood/Vegetarian/Experimental
Fashion
I'm surprised this isn't in, but maybe it will come when an 'attraction' pack comes out.
Commercial Venue Type
This might dictate what kind of venues a sim likes to frequent, like Libraries/Karaoke Bars/Art Centers/Spas

Don't worry. I don't find players not playing certain DLC offensive. They have been saying that they are going to improve it in the future. With foods, there are a lot of them. The Sims 3 favorite foods section didn't even feature every single food in the game!
Though it would be great to have, especially as you can also set what foods will your sim dislike. And perhaps do the same with bar drinks.

Though if a lot of options are added, the limit has to be increased from 20 to... a lot.

I really like the idea of liked/disliked commercial venue types! I'm always dismayed when I see Eliza or Bob Pancakes in nightclubs, since it doesn't make sense for me that it would be their scene. It would make more sense for me to see them frequently at restaurants, arguing in the fancy booth. Traits influence which lots you can find NPCs at, but this would give much more control and personality to sims, especially when it comes to dislikes, imo. I'd LOVE to see sims miserable in places they don't feel like they fit in with, or find the music too loud, or feel that libraries are creepy etc. It would also allow sims to more easily meet other sims with common interests.

Well, the idea is to remove it from friendly social and move it to that likes and dislikes sections.

Hmm... That is really difficult...
On one side, occults are defined by having special powers and don't exist in real world. Plus being an occult can be cured (ultimate vampire cure for vampires, rite of dissolution for spellcasters, 2 mermadic kelp for mermaids etc) and any sim can become an occult (turning to vampires, rite of ascension for spellcasters, mermadic kelp to become a mermaid etc).
On the other side, yes, it's who that sim is. It is genetic and can be passed on to children (even when the parent wasn't born as that occult and children can also cure themselves). However, then there are aliens, who are born as aliens and can't get cured and disguise themselves as a normal sim. There's an argument made for them.

Not every player wants to play with occults. And those who do, some want some sims to be fan of supernatural and some not.

I just had an idea about those activities.

Perhaps have an option to fine-tune what exactly sim likes/dislikes about that skill. For example, if you want your sim to like swimming, no need to mark the whole fitness skill as likes. Or have sim only dislike cooking when a stove is involved.
Maybe add a button to the skill choices where you can open up a panel showing activities. Then have that whole skill count as one like/dislike no matter how many activities you choose there.

- Ice/Roller Skating (then mauve some sims will use the rinks autonomously)
- Bike Riding
- Reading
- Watching tv
- Water related activities
- Playing Voidcritters (for kids)
- Drawing
- Partying
- Chess

- Social media
- Karaoke

Other

- Favorite Food/ Least Favorite food
- Favorite/least favorite season or weather
- Animal related likes and dislikes (ie : Likes animals; dislikes rats....)
- Fashion (as in general)
- Likes/dislikes Piercings and Tattoos
- School
- Work
- Vampires and Spellcasters related likes and dislikes
- Spiders/mice
- Etc
