Love in the Sims
I’ve been thinking that sims need romance.
Our sims can have amazing jobs (full time and part time), the most adorable pets, the ability to build breath-taking homes and tame screaming toddlers. But where’s the love or the romance?
The world:
The romance themed world could be based on Jaipur in India or old Hollywood or Portland Oregon.
Jaipur has beautiful historical buildings and the sims never had a world based on India before.
Old Hollywood of being glamour and idealist which is a good recipe for romance. Also, cars could be key features.
Portland Oregon is beautiful and has lovely roses gardens.
Relationships:
Sims could ask possible partners if they would like a committed or non-committed relationship. Committed and family focus sims will either become distressed or lost interested if their try to date non-committed sim.
Online dating could be helpful for sims that have trouble dating. SimWhar (a dating app) could help sims finds dates and help plan dates for the sims.
In Cas and in the gameplay, sims can have more relationships types. For example, Fiancée, Lovebug (non-committed partner), boyfriend or girlfriend, datemate and partner could be used to describe partners.
Romantic and jealous sims will become stressed if their relationships are not meeting their romantic expirations.
Sims can celebrate their dating and wedding anniversaries.
Dating and Romantic Behaviour:
If your sim goes on too many dates in a week, they will either become tense or sad because they don't think they will find true love
Jealous sims can throw drinks over their dates if they see them on another date
Sims can become excited or really nervous when go on dates.
Dating suggestions could help sims find the perfect date location. If a sim wants to impress their date who’s a foodie. Sims will use their phones to find recommendation for popular high-end restaurants.
However, if the sim picks a dive bar with low quality food, their date will instantly end date and leave.
Unlockable types of dates, for example if your sims have three gold dates, they would be able to go to a secret venue
Secret date venues: a private movie screening (a super romantic movie), a park where sims can stargaze and make out, a tiny hole in wall restaurant where dishes cause super flirty behaviour.
Dates can be planned three days in advance and sims will have a happy moodlet of a possible romance.
Special types of interactions with love ones E.g. If your sim has a boyfriend, they could give them a special type of hug or if your sim is married, they could give a special type of kiss to their S.O.
Sims can have dates in their homes. Sims can plan an indoor picnic, cooking together dates and movies and relaxing dates.
Sims can propose to their partners during a meal and have the ring in cake. But can cause death if the engagement ring is eaten.
Sims could rate their dates and higher marked date would instantly recommend to plan another date.
