I get where you're going with this. You're talking more about what used to be called "space age" decor. It was a style that came out in the 1960s.

If they were to go with this "space age" style, I would prefer it to be more in the vein of the 1960s because the decor was far more interesting than the modern day version. Stuff like this, in other words:
