Money transfer between households

If you use mods, MCCC mod has a setting to transfer funds between households. You can click on the sim, then click MCCC option, then click Sim commands, there is then an option to transfer funds

Without mods, you can use the give money gift interaction from seasons, if you have it, or if you have high charisma the ask for loan interaction, I don't think this one actually removes the founds from the other household anyway. I'd like to have that option too. Some people use the draggable items to bring money with one specific sim, like the 15000 simoleon violin that can be placed in inventories.

I agree there. It should be asked, when moving someone out of an houseold, what is the amount of money from the original fund they bring with them.

Thanks for bringing that up. I never thought of that.

I also had to split the family and it was driving me mad that there's so little money the new household gets while my main has so much money she could fill the pool with it and start to swim.

@TBrandes & @NADYSOPHIE -- I wholeheartedly agree... I wish they would add the option of how much money to take with you when splitting or moving. That makes sense... it's not like the sim decides - we do.

I have played adult sims households and used the method of purchasing expensive items in the household before moving (must be items you can drag into that particular sim's personal inventory). As @SiliClone mentioned, the most expensive violin (which they can 'pocket'/store in their personal inventory) is a great option. Other examples of items that can go into the personal inventory are paintings made by a household member (if a master painter this can add up for them nicely), high value produce from gardening (I have done this with a bunch of 'magnificent' or 'perfect' dragon fruits, which are worth over $400 each. Anyway, anything valuable that can be dragged into their personal inventory should do.

Note that when you move them into their own household you will only see the standard $20,000 for their income/funds. So... you may need to get creative how to get into the lot you want. You may need to move into a cheap home or lot using the $20,000, unpocket & cash in all of that personal inventory so that it is now showing as their available funds, then move again to where you can actually afford.

You can try to bypass it by getting a vault in the household that you would like to transfer money to. Once I bought it and placed it on that lot, I logged back into the family that has more money, and travel to the family that needs money. Have "rich" sim place money into the vault without closing it. Log back into the family that you'd like to play with, and voila! LOL It's not ideal, but still kinda allows you to have the money from previous household without using cheat codes. Hope it helps! :)

1. Go to manage households.
2. Select the family that is gifting their children or other households and choose the merge or transfer sims between households option.
3. Type in how much funds transfer you would like the donors to give.
4. Choose a sim to transfer. You will be able to transfer them right back!
5. Click the check mark that illuminates after transferring a sim.
6. Send the sim back to their original house during a separate transfer!

yes very much this can be done, at least in Sims 3. Like @Rosemow said if you use that mod you can do it.
And I thought I saw a way to do it in Sims 4. How not sure though.

What @SheriGR said is something we don't have and I agree we should have that. Right now in TS3 the game assigns a Sim a certain amount of funds, when you create a new Sim and move them into a home.
But I have noticed in the TS3 game lately that when I tried to split up a household and move one Sim to another home, they didn't have any funds at all.
Maybe it was my fault and I should have allotted them some funds from the household, but it didn't even occur to me.
She wasn't part of the family anyway but a stray robber I picked up :D So I just gave her money myself.

yes thought that was possible to gift money but wasn't for certain, and yes forgot about the mooching Sims they can ask for a loan.

yes what you're talking about is different than what we have now.

Not to confuse things because in my other post I said we have this.
We don't have a way to leave an inheritance to my knowledge, but we do have ways to transfer money in other ways.

You are talking about an inheritance, and I agree with you, it would be great to have that option added to the game.
Even be able to write a will or create a trust where the Sim who is inheriting can opt to accept it now or later and if they choose to take it now can use it to do things like move or start a business.
And if they choose to accept it later, interest accrues. Like if a trust was set up for a toddler, not sure if they have this option in TS4 now, but if they do, it will accumulate interest and so when the toddler becomes a YA (young adult) they can have even more money.
