Movin’ On Up Legacy Challenge - Quit or Continue?

I decided to play a Movin’ On Up Legacy Challenge and I'm at a point where I don't know whether to continue or change direction. My founder, their spouse and infant were in apartment number three (with the Gremlins lot trait) when the founder died of electrocution, after a gremlin blitz broke everything in the apartment.  This obviously could have been avoided, but as there was only one electrical item left that needed repairing, I (foolishly) took the risk.

Anyway, moved into apartment number four and the spouse has now died of laughter whilst joking around with his toddler son. Again this probably could have been avoided, but I left them to it and the result is that both parents are now dead.

The heir has been adopted, so I guess I could continue with their new parent moving into the apartment. (Not sure how this fits into the rules?) However I've yet to play the contents of the new life and death pack and I'm wondering if I should get the two ghosts together and play with that?

Thoughts?

  •  By the way, these are my first Sim deaths in over 1600 hours of play!

  • On checking the rules It sounds like the legacy has failed - "Once a sim moves out, they are ineligible to be heir, even if conditions change that might make them the rightful heir." The heir moved out to be adopted, so challenge ended ☹️

  • I've never played this particular challenge, but I have played the original Pinstar's Legacy Challenge. It went wonky on me when I was just reaching the second generation. I forgot about a small clause on the rules I chose for the selection of the Heir. When I learned there was no way for me to go back and restart, since my Founder's wife was a walkby that isn't regenerated (she had died) like the NPCs in houses are. I waited some time and then just began anew.

Since the other player suggested it should be game over due to your circumstances, I am inclined to agree.  If you have duplicates of your Sims in your My Library, I would even be inclined to take the same Sims and try again. Best of luck

  • I am sorry that the two sims died and that your legacy challenge ended 🙁 I hope that the challenge goes better the next time that you try it.

I finally had a death by emotion, after quite some time of playing. Then that Sim's wife perished, at the same event, just moments later. My Rock Star was throwing his first Charity Event, lost his brother-in-law and his only sister. I was not a happy camper to say the least. I now have experienced this death and have no need to repeat it.  I use MCCC mod which enables me to turn off emotional deaths.
