Existing gameplay changes/improvements
Jobs/careers
- Live-in/home businesses-mods exist that kinda make this work, but the types of items you can sell are limited.
- More active careers/update existing jobs to be active
- Part time jobs
- Anything that doesn't rely on social media....it feels like there's too heavy a focus on this in TS4 right now.
Babies and toddlers-TS3 had, IMO, the best babies of the series.
- Free them from the crib!
- Allow early skill gains.
- Give us more cribs/allow us to use custom cribs by default. Currently you have to jump through a few modding hoops to make this happen.
- Allow younger children to assist with baby and toddler care. They can fetch bottles or snacks, pick up and soothe a crying baby, etc.
Richer sims personalities. Currently all my sims behave in essentially the same way, with no noticeable variations despite what their traits are.
- Favorites-music, food, TV genre
- And hated-ditto
- Zodiac-incorporate different aspects of some traits to add more depth without adding more trait slots
- More trait slots-if the above is simply not possible
- More traits-I'm getting rather bored of all the same ones.
- Attractiveness likes/dislikes-again, there are mods that address this, but I would prefer it was part of the official gameplay.
Craftable items. One of my favorite parts of past sims games, sorely lacking in TS4.
- Clothing
- Customize the easel paintings-without having to learn to mod.
- Pottery
- Embroidery
- Plush animals and toys
- Perfumes and colognes
- Cards
- Scrapbooks/albums
Real estate. Once again, it feels like TS4 took a large step back in this area.
- Vacation homes
- Own other residences you can rent
- Apartments
- Hotels/B&Bs, ownable by sims
- Ownable parks/stores/etc
