Done!
Well, as done as it's going to be. It's not as good as I had wanted, but whatever, it will do.
It felt like it was going to be a lot longer, but the battle turned out to be very short, at least from Seth's point of view.

The Very Secret Diary of Seth Magnus
Day 2 in the Woods
The others returned, and told us of the clues they found. We agreed that we should investigate further. So into the woods we went.
Though bloodvines are red, that is not where they get their name from. Their name comes from the way they draw your blood. Thick thorns that snare your clothes, allowing the vine to tangle around your ankle. If you're unfortunate, you'll trip, and fall into their blood thirsty clutches. If you're fortunate, they'll only tear your clothes.
Mostly, the blood vines keep to the deeper forest, but at times, they snake across the paths.
There was a clearing on the path ahead of us. Something about it caused a sense of anxiety among our party as we climbed the gentle slope.
Katia slipped through the trees, returning to our group, whispered, “Slow down, something isn't right. We're being watched.”
Soon after, Markus joined us from the other side of the path.
“There are people hiding in the trees.”
We moved back down the path a short distance, and had a whispered conversation, attempting to plan our advance.
“The EyeBlades are more dangerous than you might imagine, they must be taken out quickly, or they will cause us much trouble,”whispered Ellawyn with urgency.
“I'll charge them,” said Teagan, not really bothering to whisper.
“It's not humanoids that watch us” insisted Katia, “It's something else.”
One thing I have learned is that people have more courage when they believe that they are invincible. But not to take things to such an extreme, I mutter a few words, and cast a minor illusion over a few weapons.
Safiya gave me a funny look and rolled her eyes, as if to say, 'Mages, always up to their tricks.'
Teagan, happy with a faintly glowing weapon, but frustrated with our chatter, tromped back up the slope to where Darius was crouched.
The remainder of our group, quietly climbed the slope again, only to be startled by a roar from Teagan, who then charged into the clearing, and butchered a tree.
And then all hell broke loose.
“Direwolves!” Came an exasperated gasp from my left, where Katia stalked.
Then it all happened so fast, there were blurs of black, grey and dark brown. Lightening struck a tree near the edge of the clearing, it must have struck something else too, because there was also a howl of pain. Katia leaped forward, grabbing the tail of a beast as it passed her, yanking hard, pulling it back in it's charge toward Ellawyn and Safiya.
I held my calm long enough to remember how to release a magic missile but was then struck down by a huge, heavy blue-black shape. There was pain in my shoulder, pain in my arm, and the weight pressing against my other shoulder. Then nothing.
I awoke to the smell of blood and charred fur.
Ellawyn was inspecting my shoulder and upper arm. It didn't hurt much, not like it should have.
She muttered something about it needing stitching, but not having time to do it now, as she wrapped it in a clean bandage.
We are alive, but our party lacks the strength we started with, and what happened to the EyeBlades? Will they attack while we are weak?
