Not So Berry Complex
This isn't a new challenge, this is just a play through (probably a partial play through) of the Not So Berry Challenge where multiple generations live in different homes on the same property, the Not So Berry residential complex. I've seen build challenges where people built (usually tiny) homes for the different generations, but I've never seen anyone actually play the challenge this way. I was wondering if this could work.
The first complex is Mint, Yellow and Red. Obviously, I had to use freerealestate on to move the original household in. I say household because I realized that paying the bills for three homes on a single starter salary is unreasonable. I moved a couple into the Yellow house and gave them both jobs so that they can contribute. I don't plan on playing the Abdullahs as full-fledged characters, I'll just be directing them to work on job skills now and then so they can get promoted.
I didn't include a Gray house in this community because Gray's parent(s) reject Gray for not going into STEM. I figured Gray should find their own path, both professionally and geographically.
Chapter 1-Setting Things Up
When Penny Royal first moved in she couldn't wait to start experimenting in her secret basement lab. I locked the front door of the Mint house to the Abdullahs because I wouldn't give neighbors I just met the run of my house IRL.
The Yellow house is intentionally small because Yellow is a loner who probably won't do much entertaining when she moves in. Doesn't stop the welcome wagon from crowding on the front step. Fair is fair, so Penny's locked out of the Yellow house.
In order to make the Rose house function as a vacant house, I locked the front door to everyone and turned out all the indoor lights. I'm debating if I want to turn out lights on the patio dining space as well. Penny and the Abdullahs might want to use that.
Penny wakes up in her minty bedroom for her first day on the job. Stop daydreaming about how you'll conquer the science world! You only have an hour to get ready!
I downloaded Abdulrahman Abdullah off the exchange. I decided to make him a politician representing the Foundation for Less Mischief because I like the irony. His wife, an aspiring writer, has the day off, so I had her practice writing in their study.
So far so good, but I welcome any suggestions.
