Awesome questions @Marialein! Definitely unique, thanks for starting us off :)
Question one: we all read diffferent kind of sim stories and I guess books too. Are the kind of books or stories influnce your writing? Are there adoptions in yours? Would you like to do so?
In some ways they are and in some ways they aren't! Because I write a Newcrest challenge, I try to encourage new writers trying this challenge as much as I can. And I started writing it because I read someone else's adaption. But there are also challenges I adore reading, but don't feel like doing myself (right now or ever). So it's really a mix.
I do always try to take an example of writers whose writing I consider an example-model. I aspire to be lie them without copying. :)
Books however almost never influence my own writing, up until now I always needed some motivation to write (hence a challenge) so writing just a story line is hard on me, even if I have many ideas for them.
Question two: What about other games than sims, do they help you with finding ideas?
They don't help me in my SimLit, but I enjoy them nevertheless
I prefer zombie-games, and I obviously don't write about zombies.
Question three: While creating a sim do you always plan how they should be? Do you make a story for them or do you just wait and see what happens in your game?
Sometimes I have this character planned out in my head, based on their traits and story I form their facial features.. And sometimes I simply push and pull until I molded a random sim, it's appearance inspires it's personality. It really depends, but for my story I have most characters planned out.
Question four: Building is one of the most time consuming things I know. How do you handle it? Gallery or building yourself? Do you lose the interest if it doesn't turn out how you imagened or have you tips for such situations?
For the Grace's I've build everything, except the cabin's and campsite in Granite Falls, myself. Mainly because it's a building challenge and I started it to improve my (poor) skills. I really noticed improvement!
For Ashley's story I asked the DNA team on the forum to build me a personalized mansion, mainly because I had certain wishes and it would make the house especially for my story rather then a big villa from the gallery. I hope to obtain skills like that myself some day.
