"Off The Grid" / Country Farming GAME PACK Idea

Edit: Added solar stove and pit toilet.
Edit2: Added "Technophobe" trait and typewriter.

OFF THE GRID GAMEPLAY

  • Live the challenging "Off The Grid" life in the new country world Sunlight Acres. Filled with country windmills, barns and large fields. Buy a small farm house or one of the large 64x64 lots that have plenty of space for harvestable fields, live stock, barns and a family farm house.
  • All lots in the world of Sunlight Acres don't receive power or water. But the good thing is that you don't have to pay bills in this world.
  • Buy generators or solar panels to have power on your lot and water pumps to have running water. These objects might break from time to time, so that there will be no power/water until your repair it. Your Sims can also decide not to have these objects, but then they won't have power nor water on their lot in the world of Sunlight Acres. Sims can upgrade the generator and water pump to never break.
  • Visit the local farmer's market to buy fresh harvestables and learn to craft food that doesn't rely on technology like fridges, stoves or microwaves. Buy "Off The Grid" objects, live stock like chicken or cows or just meet the neighbors. Participate in the weekly "Best Farmer" contest at the farmer's market to show off your biggest and best quality harvestable and win a price. Buy special radioactive fertilizer to grow GIANT harvestables. You just shouldn't eat them if you don't want to get ill.
  • "Off The Grid" objects include furniture that doesn't rely on water/power like a solar stove that can only be used during daytime and a pit toilet that doesn't use water, a typewriter that raises Writing skill and an old-fashioned stove that uses fire instead of electricity.
  • Sims with the new Technophobe trait hate everything technological and enjoy the "Off The Grid" life the most. Far away from all the technology. They get Uncomfortable when around technology, enjoy breaking technology such as TVs or computers and are happy when using "old school" objects, such as the typewriter.

NEW HARVESTABLES, NECTAR MAKING AND CANNING!

  • Plenty of new harvestables for your Sims to grow! From simple Oranges, Peaches, Wheat, Turnips or Corn to more rarer variants like Eggplants or Watermelons.
  • Become a Nectar Crafter and craft nectar with the new Nectar Making skill! Chose the right harvestables and create your own custom nectar type. Put the nectar into the nectar rack! The longer the nectar stays inside the rack the better it tastes! Also build your own nectar cellar!
  • When drinking the right type of handcrafted Nectar, your Sims can get in a Happy or Flirty mood. Poor quality Nectar will give you an Uncomfortable moodlet after drinking. Drinking too much Nectar will make your Sim Dazed!
  • Use the canning station or a simple stove to save your best harvestables so that they will never spoil, unless you open the glass. Craft jam and eat it on toast.

LIVE STOCK

  • Buy the new chicken coop or cow barn and care for your animals. You will be rewarded with eggs and milk.
