Today I was determined to increase my rock climbing skill, so I warmed up at the gym with the climbing machine before heading to town with Kiyoshi. We inspected the climbing wall there and determined it was still too advanced for my skill level.

I suggested we try the walls up on the mountain and Kiyoshi agreed, but when we arrived a thunder snowstorm was under way! I asked if it was safe to climb in these conditions and he said probably not but that the worst of the storm was further up the mountain so it was up to me. I thanked him for coming but told him he didn't have to join me before running to the climbing wall; I certainly wasn't going to waste this trip!

The snow definitely made climbing a challenge, but I was determined and spent a good three hours climbing up and down (only falling a handful of times).

Once it started getting dark I returned to the onsen to thaw out my frozen limbs. Kiyoshi was still there waiting for me so I told him that I'd find a ride home as I still wanted to soak for a bit. As soon as he left Koari showed up! She was obviously feeling a bit flirty and i got the sense she was interested in me so I built up the nerve and asked her if she was and she said yes!

We exchanged numbers and she offered to drop me off at home. I was too excited to sleep so I led a another yoga class at the park, what a great day!
