January 3 - Week 1 - Tuesday - I Want Candy

The next morning before school, Elfie took out the parsley and chrysanthemum from his backpack. He thought he might plant them, but knew nothing about gardening. He remembered watching the forest elves working in the greenhouse at the North Pole, and they basically just stuck some seeds in the earth, watered them and the seeds grew into plants. Well, there was more to it than that, because he had heard they also talked to the plants, but, he decided to give it a try and planted them. It was the start of a garden, and Elfie seemed to enjoy gardening, too.

The day was overcast, and sometime during the night, it had also rained. There was a big puddle on his lot, and since Elfie needed some fun, well, what better way to have fun than to play in the mud. Oh yeah!

That was certainly lots of fun, but now Elfie had to get washed up and ready for school. So, he headed to the Hazakura Lounge to use the facilities. Yesterday, one of the students at high school told him about a place called the Sutefani Onsen Bathhouse, in the Yukimatsu neighborhood, which had showers. Elfie loved showers, and especially loved to sing in the shower, and thought he would head to the Onsen after Drama Club.

As he left for school, it had started to rain and he waved to the mail carrier as he ran off. The school day was long, and Elfie decided to invite a classmate over after school. Her name was Gemma Charm, and...oh gosh, when she arrived, Elfie promptly collapsed on the ground in front of her. Gemma didn't think anything of it and figured that Elfie was just taking a power nap. Yep, that was it.

When Elfie woke up, he chatted with Gemma a bit and found out that she loved to laugh and play jokes. Elfie immediately liked her and felt there was something "magical" about her. They took a photo together, and Elfie was so thrilled that Gemma was now his first teen friend.

A bunch of his other classmates visited (Kiyoshi Ito, Kaori Nishidake and Kevin Puri-an exchange student), and suggested they do their homework together. Elfie thought that was a great idea, and they went over to his favorite bench, and oh gee...not again. I guess that the homework was rather boring. And...oh gosh...he never made it to Drama Club. Oops!

But the good news is that Kaori Nishidake asked him to prom, which, as she explained to Elfie, was a big dance. Oh yeah! He was in!

Elfie really needed some rest, but that project that he got at school yesterday, still hadn't been done. So, he attempted to work on it and rounded up some passer-by to help him. Gemma also stayed and helped with the project, too.

Well, I am not sure how much work Elfie actually did on the project, but it somehow got finished. Probably by all his helpers...because...you guessed it...Elfie had another power nap.

And it must have been all the loud clapping that woke Elfie up. He thanked everyone and decided to head to the Sutefani Onsen Bathhouse to take a shower, use the facilities and maybe find a more comfortable place to sleep.

Elfie rode the shuttle to the mountain, and as he walked up a short pathway to the Onsen, he...um...well...he didn't quite make it.

Elfie's needs were really in the red. He entered the Onsen, took a shower, then headed to the restroom and used the facilities. After eating a piece of fruitcake, he felt a bit better. But he was still tired. Things were certainly different here in the Simworld, and maybe Elfie was tired because he wasn't eating properly. That was it! Elfie's diet was lacking. He had to get back to the Elf Diet and eat from the "four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup." Elfie knew that if he did that, he would feel so much better.

Elfie found a couch near a fireplace and it looked so inviting. He sat down and thought about the appraiser who had told him that he might have a buyer for some of his celebrity autographs and would call him tomorrow. That would be good because then maybe Elfie could find a nice little rental cottage that had a comfortable bed to sleep in.

As he sat there, he listened to the strains of some Japanese music floating through the air. It sounded so relaxing that he laid down and fell asleep. Sweet dreams, Elfie.
