Also.. was only thinking.. maybe as it originally was dorm, that lot still has some dorm activities in it, maybe lotzoning does not reset all dorm behaviour as it should🙂
These lots are so rarely used as anything else than dorms, why maybe not commonly known there might be some "leftovers" at zoning.
As this same does not happen in penthouses elsewhere or apartments . (roommates girlfriends, or dormie's relatives or partyguests what all are dorm-related)
Cannot be roommate issue as Irene's lot has those too, and her housemates are not official roommates.

I haven't played with roommates so I don't know what to expect, but that makes sense some things would still behave as a dorm, because of zoning, like you said.
As for the elevator, on apartment lots it's usually in the hallway, so random sims might show up there. I guess it's not that weird they would come visit the dorms.
I maxed Irene's cooking and gourmet cooking and baking in mine too when I set her up in the bakery. 😁 Rowan's cooking is maxed too, so he'll cook food for everyone from time to time too. And Honey will never have to touch the stove. Lol.
I am like Honey in real life. My husband does most of the cooking. 🤭
