Hi @Pepper61! Thanks for the love :smiley: I will update this in the standard rules! But here's my answer:
You earn money by work mainly, but you can do a "side task" to get some extra income. E.g. sell items you find around town or something related to your main career: nothing too heavy such as master painting skills and selling masterpieces while you should be living off a salary as a veterinarian.
For passing money to another generation: divide the household funds within the next generation, but with a minimum of 10.000 simoleons for the next heir and a minimum of 2.000 for the current generation.
Example 1: you're about to move to the next heir. The next heir has no siblings and you have 30.000 in the bank. You take 28.000 simoleons when you move out.
Example 2: The next heir has 2 siblings and you have 32.000 in the bank. You take 10.000 when you move out.
Example 3: You have 5.000 simoleons in the bank. The next heir moves out with just 3.000 simoleons, but you can take some of the furniture with you or sell them for money. Or just decide to hang a little longer in the current generation to save up some more money before you move out.
