Pack Suggestion: An art framing shop
I would like to suggest an art framing shop. It would be a business you could visit to make your own images into non-custom content art works for your sims’ walls. It would offer a range of sizes as well as several frame styles and colours. All these factors (size, frame, colour) could be based off existing game assets and only assets from the packs owned could be accessed. You could even take the paintings made or photos taken by your sims there for professional framing, instead of the ugly basic frames they get now. When houses with these custom art works are placed in the gallery, they should not be flagged as custom content. If it is necessary for these items not to be shared on the gallery, they can be replaced by the game in the same way other items are replaced by base game items if the specific pack is not owned by the downloader.
I realise that there is currently a way to create non-custom content art works, but it is convoluted and time consuming. The process could be streamlined and made so that everyone could do it, not just a talented few. There are also programs to recolour existing art works but they flag as custom content. I believe it was either the Sims 1 or 2 that had a small, free program that you could use to do this. It was quite limited though. Not many frame, colour or size options.
I believe this is a win/win solution. The players would be able to personalise their game and share their creations with other players, and the company would make money from doing it this way.
