I would like to see some new photography options in TS4.
I would love to see an easier option to take a photograph of your sim without needing to cheat another sim to take it for you, and I'm not talking about selfies here!
The photography studio should have the option to hire a photographer, where we can control the shots they take. The shots those include could be as follows:
We should be able to take family photos. Want to capture the memory of your family before your precious daughter moves away? Get a family photo!
Another option could be to take maternity photos, for your pregnant sims, with or without their significant other(if they have one).Don't you want to show off that belly?
Or how about marriage photos? Having a wedding? Hire a photographer to snap those lovey-dovey shots!
In addition to the above, I think we should have the option to place the taken photo on a surface again like in TS3. It can be just as simple as it was before; where you just drag the photo from your inventory onto a desk or shelf and have it be a standing frame rather than on the wall.
Lastly, while in the camera interaction we should be able to cycle through a series of poses depending on the current sim's mood.
So to sum it up, I would love to see:
-Non selfie photography options in the photo studio
-Family portraits
-Wedding photos
-Maternity photos
-Pose cycles
The sad truth - which may hurt - is the game already allows for this.
Technically-speaking the game allows you to set up for a third-party (ie you, not a Sim) to take a picture - so you can have ALL of your Sims in a picture and you do not need a third-party Sim to take the photo - you don't even need another Sim.
TS4 has this capability - it is a basic function, we are just no allowed to have it - but the game supports it.
The whole wedding photographer idea - it's all in the game - if you bypass having an actual Sim being an actual photographer.
The photography booth thing they gave us is basically a pretend restriction - it is smoke and mirrors.
Anybody can simulate restrictions.
The idea of a camera in TS4 that a Sim can use is a limitation to the simulation of real-life - Maxis know this and they know what Simmers want.
Photography in TS4 has no real-world restrictions, other than what Maxis ties it to.
It's just a fact of life.
When you play the game, you can freely move the game camera around and you can take a picture - a screenshot - with little limitation. Well, there is no real reason why you cannot do this to take an in-game picture for an in-game photo.
It's as easy as that.
There's not much for Maxis to do to allow you to have this - it's not like they have to have a meeting and discuss how they implement this. It certainly will have taken them a hell of a lot longer to have a meeting to limit how a Sim could take a photo than how they could not.
