But wouldn't it go beyond just this company? It would be under the government if people are missing. Unless they're doing something underhanded? Or...their government is messed up somehow?
Edited to add...I'm REALLY enjoying the story. That's why I'm so invested and wondering things...
I was suspecting this as well but haven't discovered a hint so far, at least none that's useful for our current level of knowledge.
