I'll be playing with Dela Ostrow and Mia Hayes, the couple featured on the sims cover art and on the banner of the forums here as well. I've given them both makeovers, but I hope they're still recognizable enough. They live in one of the San Myshuno apartments, and they're quite miserable to be living together still, but with how expensive rent is these days and breaking the lease was not a great option, they're stuck together. My goal is to have them fall in love again, so we'll see how that goes :)

Dela is a cultural columnist with the traits ambitious, cheerful, and creative, and she has the aspiration of Renaissance Sim. Bio from the Sim's Wiki: As a kid, Dela lived all over the world, shadowing her mum—a globally sought-after fashion photographer. That experience gave Dela an inherent sense of optimism and a deep entrepreneurial spirit. She recently launched her first fashion line, and her unique pieces and global style is starting to get press. Her girlfriend Mia—a designer in her own right—helps keep her informed of trends outside the fashion industry
Mia is a freelance artist with the traits self-assured, cheerful, and creative (just realized they basically have the same traits :D) and she has the aspiration of Painter Extraordinaire. Bio from the Sim's Wiki: With a head for numbers, and a creative eye, Mia splits her time between freelance programmer and artist gigs. Being both a bit of an introvert, and a bit of a rebel, this independence suited her outlook in life. Mia has a unique way of attracting creative, high-energy friends like Noah, and her girlfriend Dela. They love her genuine, almost kid-like enthusiasm. She is the glue that bonds her social circles together.
I am in the process of furnishing Victor and Ali's Stonestreet apartment. So they are in a similar situation of course. I may bring a fixer upper ranch into it later, depending on how the relationship/s, work and everything goes. One of them may find they have an unexpected inheritance, but it needs more than a little TLC...
I don't have specific plans of stick together or break up. I intend to put some of my other Sims in and just see what happens.

Shaken by the intruder, it seemed that sleep would not be an option, so she decided to work on the mural she'd been painting on the wall of the spare bedroom that had suddenly become hers just days ago when the unimaginable breakup had happened. https://i.imgur.com/amTulPs.png
Meanwhile, Dela had awoken as well. Never a fan of breakfast foods and not one who enjoyed cooking, she whipped up a box of mac and cheese. https://i.imgur.com/SGA06TF.png
Despite the tension between the two, she had made enough for Mia. She just couldn't seem to help worrying that Mia would get so lost in her art that she'd forget to eat. https://i.imgur.com/EHQbLcl.jpg

Meanwhile, Mia continued to paint. By noon, she had finished most of the outline, and as she glanced around the room, realizing she was still in her pjs and had no active gigs, decided it might be best to go get some fresh air. https://i.imgur.com/VQY5rYS.jpg

Then she stumbled upon a box of discarded items. Mia always loved rummaging for unique items, but it always annoyed Dela when she dug through other people's "trash" - yet another point of contention between the two. Well, Dela wasn't here now, and she spotted a dusty little snow globe peaking out from amongst the items and stashed it in her pocket. https://i.imgur.com/6pRehZt.png

Her father had always given her coins to toss in to fountains and make wishes on when she was a child, and she found herself feeling nostalgic for the tradition now. Taking a coin out of her pocket, she wished desperately for everything between her and Dela to turn out okay. https://i.imgur.com/lmxDjcC.jpg
(That turned out to be more narrative driven than I intended but I decided just to go with it for now. Since the scenario doesn't having any little goals to reach before the big one, doing a story driven approach seems like it might be the most engaging for this one)
I created Mia Valpolicella and Sarah Stern for this scenario some time ago, got frustrated that I couldn't include their parents in the same save without either being ineligible for the scenario or destroying the relationships with the parents, and gave up on it. You guys have inspired me to pick them up again. It's been long enough that I can move on with my life, and this scenario, without their parents in it!
What brought these two together in the first place? Well, they both love dancing, and they both had a dream to move to Tartosa, so they did! Mia wanted to become a singer, and Sarah wanted to get a job and save up to go to university, in a program where she could nerd out about Tartosa history and architecture. And sometimes another person's opposite traits can be quite attractive and inspirational! Until they aren't. (The game already had its own ideas about this, not two seconds into the scenario)
Sarah is beginning to understand that she's probably not romantically interested in anyone, that her feelings for Mia were really more friendly, combined with excitement about shared interests and shared dreams for the future. You could still build a great relationship on that foundation, but, not with Mia. Mia requires a certain amount of romantic attention. Both from real and imaginary sources. Mia, for her part, always had doubts about whether Sarah was really into her or not, and now that those doubts have been confirmed she's feeling really sad and resentful after the fact.
Well, we need them to stay in the same household for the scenario ;) but... getting that place in Tartosa was a dream for both of them, they can't afford separate places in Tartosa yet, nobody wants to lose custody of the puppy, only Sarah has a real job, and deep down Sarah has concerns about Mia's basic ability to take care of herself.
Mia wants to become a singer but her idea of disciplined practice consists of random vocalizations outside in the sun when she feels like it. She also enjoys cooking, but she often is distracted by arguments with the people in the fridge https://i.postimg.cc/0NPQ8rcj/12-13-23-10-36-44-PM.png Consequently the food turns out poorly, or doesn't get made at all.
Sarah's job as a salaryperson is mind-numbing and stressful. Meanwhile hanging out with their married friends is becoming stressful too. Were their married friends always this coupley all the time?? She's starting to alienate them with her reprimands about public displays of affection
The easiest way to complete the scenario would obviously be to give Mia a new romantic interest, but we can't have it be that easy, so instead Mia is going to distract herself from her problems by making a million friends and trying to improve everyone else's lives!

Not wanting to spoil her good mood with the inevitable fight that would break out as soon as she stepped through the door, she found herself lingering on the city streets and was delighted to see that the Spice Festival was in town. A young woman was busking nearby the festival, and Dela stopped to listen for a little while. Usually Mia tipped the street artists and buskers - Dela was more frugal, but perhaps Mia's spirit and her constant reminder to support artists of any kind nagged in the back of her mind, so Dela generously tipped the busker. https://i.imgur.com/5qGSNsX.jpg
Next, she gathered some harvestables for the garden she had been planning to start on the balcony of their apartment, a task she had been wanting to do for months but could never seem to find the time for. https://i.imgur.com/OcvvgXf.jpg
As it grew dark, she knew she couldn't avoid going home much longer, but as she approached the apartment complex, she noticed one of the silly boxes Mia was always rummaging around in. https://i.imgur.com/aQshRU4.png
She couldn't help herself - Mia insisted there were always treasures hidden amongst the junk, and Dela's curiosity got the best of her as she took a peek. https://i.imgur.com/iKdCcuL.png
As expected, it was mostly just useless items, but a bottle of bubbles caught her eye and she cradled it her hand as she took a seat on the bench outside the complex for a moment. It was such a silly little item to find, but she couldn't help but to imagine Mia's giggles and pure delight if she had been the one to find them. It hurt how much Dela missed her. Mia was already asleep by the time she trudged up to the apartment - probably for the best. Before heading to sleep herself, she took out the plants she had gathered and brought them to the balcony, promising herself she'd do better to appreciate the little things. https://i.imgur.com/MRHA3zm.png
(That's it for tonight, thought it would be fun to do these little introductory posts for both of these ladies. Honestly most of what they did was autonomous which was also fun to incorporate into this little narrative I'm concocting on the go lol)
PS Sorry about the same first name @permanentrose , I know yours came with the Maxis sim and mine was from some time ago, we will surely be able to keep track of who is who ;)
@mightysprite lol no worries at all that they share a name - I'm sure we'll keep our Mias straight :D (Well, not straight, as it's clear both of them are queer LOL - sorry could not resist the joke). Anyway, I love the backstory you have for Mia and Sarah, and of course neither of them would want to lose custody of that precious little pup! Did you have to add the puppy after starting the scenario? I was thinking of getting Mia and Dela a cat but didn't want to mess up the scenario and couldn't remember if you could add pets or not haha. Anyway, excited to see where your story goes!
And kinda hoping you guys do No Skills, No Problem next as was brought up as a possibility :* Not interested in playing this scenario personally, but I've been thinking about doing no skills for awhile
