"And I'm much too nauseous for any cookies right now. Mia, it was a nice gesture, but talk to me about it first next time." She left. Hector breathed a sigh of relief. "Hector, I'm so sorry," said Mia. "It's okay. The more I think about the getting back together conversation, the more panicky I feel. Want to go out and have a drink and not think about this anymore?" "That sounds great, but actually, Sarah wants me to meet some new friends of hers." "You're letting your ex take over your Love Day?" "It's okay, I really want to actually."
On the way home, Mia spotted Lucia and Mateo Markovic, not requiring any assistance from anyone in order to enjoy their Love Day.
That night, Mia was tired, but still felt like going out. Hector was busy by then, so she went to a little bar in Windenburg alone. (Why isn't she out with Kiley? Because Mia would definitely date around for a while before sticking with only one person... and besides, we can't have her becoming soulmates with anyone just yet, lest the scenario end)

"Why are you doing homework at night on Love Day?" "It's for my poetry class. I find the night atmosphere so inspiring tonight. The breezes from the hills, the warmth of human conviviality, the stars above us. Don't you think so?" Mia didn't know the word "conviviality" but she definitely agreed. Mia went home to find a very excited Sarah. "I got news!" she bubbled.
"I don't know how I'll pay for it yet though. I'd have to quit my job too. I might not even be able to go." "Let's see what happens with your scholarship applications," said Mia. "And you can use some of the money from my singing!" "Mia, that's so sweet, but... singing doesn't really pay that much, does it?" Sarah didn't say, maybe we wouldn't be living together anymore when I start university?
