Please do small animals justice if they ever come in a pack

So ever since cats and dogs released a lot of people, including me, have been asking for other types of pets. I have two guinea pigs so I definitely want them in the game.

When I think about them coming in a pack I was thinking that they will do their research and not have guinea pigs come in a small cage with only one in a cage. But now I'm remembering that mfps, which came with hamsters, was kind of marketed as something you get for your child sims. Which is unfortunately how a lot of ppl see small animals. As a "starter pet" or something a child can take care of. Which is harmful because this leads to the mistreatment of these animals. And pet stores give misinformation and don't even sell big enough cages or treats that are safe for these animals.

So I hope that the sims team would have these animals come in proper cages and not limit it to one guinea pig per cage. There should at least be two. I'm not sure if the cages in mfps are proper cages for the animals that came in that pack.

I don't know if I'm being picky but I hate that dogs and cats are more catered to but small animals are seen as toys for children and I would honestly be hurt to see them in the game finally but in cruel conditions even if it's just a game.

So what other animals you would like to see them do properly that are usually mistreated or put in cruel conditions because of uneducated owners?
  • I will also add:

Guinea pigs shouldn't have those hamster balls, it hurts their back.

And if domesticated rabbits come in a pack they shouldn't be in small wire bottom cages. Rabbits need a lot of space to jump and run around.

And I would also like to see ferrets too.
  • I understand what you are getting at and I think I have seen a similar thread about this prior, but I am not too concerned about that solely because it is a video game. We can argue if it contributes to harmful stereotypes or not, but anyone seriously getting care instructions of a living breathing animal from the Sims 4 probably should not have that pet regardless.

The MFPS pets do not bother me at all. They canonically escape for adventures all the time and live their own very unrealistic lives.

I don't mean actual care instructions lol I just want them to be done properly and accurately just like how cats and dogs were done. Like im sure they did research on the different breeds when they made that pack so I am hoping they do a little bit of research on the small pets if they do a pack on them so they do them properly. They don't have to be 100% accurate but certain stuff like the cage size and how many per cage is important.
  • I think the main idea is awesome, we should have more types of pets in game like parrots, birds, rabbits (as pets not farm animals), tortoises or even ornamental fish (not as a hobby or activity also).
