1. There isn't a way to add a second floor and still have it be one room, that I know of. If you find a way though, please share it and I'll definitely add it to my tips!
2. You can use CC on your actors, but they can't be entered in the competition because Maxis doesn't accept CC. Your No-CC set can still be entered, though!

Edit: The soundstage goes into the Plumbob Pictures Backlot. Those arches along one wall lead directly into the cast and crew's food, dressing, and makeup area, which is about the same size as the soundstage. No need to add a seating area, if you'd rather use your space another way!
Also, when the soundstage goes into the lot, the second floor is provided. This is a new challenge, and my first challenge, so I'm more than willing to adjust things. I thought people would be more likely to enter if they only had to download a room, instead of a whole lot.
