I just started this challenge and I'm loving it so far.
I just have a question about marrying Royals...are they supposed to marry nobles? Or do I have to create additional Kingdoms in the other cities?
And about the marrying part, did I understand it correctly that women always take on the status of their husbands? Which means only women can rise socially, while men always remain in their class?
In other words, a female peasant could marry a nobleman and become nobility while a male peasant marrying a noblewoman would remain a peasant?
And has anyone uploaded their stories on YouTube? I would love to watch whether TS2 or TS4
Hello @IslingrShurtugal
Remember that all the marriage rules only apply to the heir of each household. Basically all heirs can only marry women from the same class or higher, except Royals who can marry Royals or Nobles. You don't have to create additional Kingdoms unless you choose to. Everyone who is not an heir is allowed to marry whomever they like. Before I started I wanted to see if it could be done, so I drew up the entire kingdom's family tree to five generations in advance. I am wondering if I could post it on here somehow.
Yes, women do take on their husband's class and men never change classes. Women "classing up" would only occur in the households of non-heirs. I don't have this situation occurring because my extra Sims don't start their own households. My extras join the Abbey or become servants. However, if you are trying to increase the size of your kingdom, this might occur. My women frequently "class down", however.
I don't have stories on YouTube, but others might.
I hope this all makes sense. Let me know if you are still confused or have any other questions.
