Should we be able to make vampires that are actually scary?

Yes. For the love of God, give me my good occults back!

This was similar to my suggestion in the 411 thread. We need a scary trait or something that breathes fear into the heart of sims. I have some crazy looking vampires decked out with cc to look extra scary. Yet they can chill at a restaurant like all is well in the world ?

But I don't want ALL sims to be scared. For example 3 scary looking vamps living together shouldn't be scared of eachother. There should be some kind of option here to balance this out.

meanwhile mine are mostly silly or hot and i wouldn't want all of them to be scary

I wouldn't mind more options in cas and gameplay to make scary ones as well

+ I really want fearsome aura trait

like we had that criminal career thing in ts3 where sims would flee scared when they notice your criminal sim it was so much fun watching them all flee from mr.glitchmustache

All they need to do is update the Influence Emotion power to cast fear.

The issue with making "scary vampires" (outside of the aforementioned power) is that even those close to said vampire (or another vampire) will get scared if they meet the conditions to be terrifying. Case-in-point: when a ghost (even one that's a part of the household) possesses an object, sims will get a fear moodlet from it. Doesn't matter if they know the ghost, instead of laughing it off or being annoyed, they'll ramp up to being terrified as soon as they start spreading their irrationality.

@KyreRoen I didn't know this about ghosts/possession. This is a good point.

Perhaps a Vampire-only trait would work? Vampires with said trait will be feared or have interaction options to scare other Sims.
(Again, I don't use Vampires in my game, so my suggestions may be no good).

Since there are no traits that are occult specific (save for the respective occult trait), I presume you mean a power or weakness. We have a power for casting emotions to all sims nearby (Influence emotion) which they could update, but otherwise there isn't a precedent for what you're suggesting. Not saying they couldn't, but given they'd then have to make multiple occult-specific traits, it's a less likely solution. Not to mention the power does not take up a trait slot, and just requires a recolour and annexation of an existing feature (with the bonus of being optional).

Zero made a mod for allowing the Influence Emotion power to cast "Burst of Fear", for those who can/want to use mods for the time being.

Not trying to bump, just a suggestion, but could they add an occult trait in such a way that other occults would not share other Sims' fears?

You make a good point though (as does @KyreRoen ) a trait may not be the best solution. I think the idea to be able to influence a fear emotion is best. :smile:

I think it would be awesome to have a "play with your food" option for vamps who get a thrill from chase and/or struggle, who find the liquor of life tastes better with a kick of adrenaline. But mods are the answer so far.

They should also be able to bite sleeping Sims. Perhaps they cause a sleeping aura to keep the victims from awakening until they're ready to feast. Keep a dog or evil chicken around to tackle them, or place a garlic braid in the bedroom for safety.
