Simlicants: The ulimate sim robot

Hello Sims Studio, it's me again with ideas for Servos/Simbots/Plumbots. ;)

Simlicants plays off Replicants, from the movie Blade Runner. They were androids that were nearly indistinguishable from humans. I have been making them in The Sims since TS2. Not as a replacement for Servos/Simbots/Plumbots, but the ultimate form in addition to them.

First a bit of history, from my Ideas Request before Simbots:

What I proposed on the TS2 feedback site were three upgradeable levels of Servo.
Not gonna happen, I think, but it's fun to think about. Maybe we will get it in The Sims 4.

Base Servo 1. A simple Servo that just takes care of work around the house. No socializing, no love, no watching TV, no wandering around town. Judging from this picture, I don't think that's the case. This servo seems to like to see things go boom.

Upgraded Servo 2. A sleeker, cooler servo that is a little more humanoid and interacts socially with your sims. It can even have nanny duties, unlike the utilitarian base Servo. You can program it for specific tasks. You may just want someone to clean up and garden, but never touch the kids.

Upgraded Servo 3.
The most sophisticated servo that is extremely human-like and someone would have to observe carefully to determine if it is actually a robot. It has no traits, but it you play it a certain way it can become self-aware, form a unique identity and receive traits. It will then want to live its own life and even fall in love and show more sim emotions.

I think it would be fun to have one fall in love with a sim and try to hide the fact that it is actually a robot. Be sure that their love isn't around when they do maintenance or recharge.

Upgraded Servo 3 (Simlicant) never happened, but I felt Plumbots qualified for Upgraded Servo 2. Servos and Simbots would qualify for Base Servo 1, without the social/fun need requirements. I loved Plumbots! Thank you. The variety was awesome.

Modding Plumbots did give me my best chance yet to make a Simlicant to the level of what I imagine they could be.

With some cool abilities.

Particularly being able to shut them down. Sometimes you have to do it. >:)

I was really happy because I thought I had achieved making a very cool one.

Unfortunately, modding had some glitchy side effects that took the fun out of them. I suspect because she was still part Simbot.

So I gave up and continued playing Into The Future and the other EPs.

I will probably tinker with her some more, because what I did experience was really cool.
Here is for hoping they officially come to TS4. :)

  • Aliens that can look like human sims in Get To Work.
    I like that. :)

I hope the ultimate sim robot can do the same. ;)
  • Still dreaming here...
And a little more hopeful since Vampires can have alternative looks.

I can imagine upgrading a standard Plumbot/Simbot into a human sim looking replicant.

Also I think it would be great if we had the simpler robots from TS2 like CleanBot, SentryBot, Hydro Bot, and MunchiBot.
We already have a cleanbot with Parenthood, so that would make room for a new kind of minor robot.
  • CK213, I love your TS3 'Simbot'. I meant to tell you when I first saw her in the other thread. Your choice of clothing and accessories for her were spot on. ;)

I've never much cared for supes and I never messed around with robots. I never wanted metal bots or Bonehildas walking around my Sims' homes. However, an android might be quite interesting to add to a family. Thanks for opening my eyes a little to the possibilities. I hope that you get your wish.
  • I do not want robots that look human for that would take away the reason of the life state. If I can create a yes, why would I create a robot?
Also, I know that if the producers chose androids, they would take advantage of the charge for something we already have in the game, the CAS. And they would not make a life-state as good as it should. I prefer metal robots myself.

    I disagree.
Simple don't make a human looking one. Stick with the lower level ones and don't upgrade it.
Having played with a modded one, making it's mechanical sounds and robotic abilities, it was not like playing with a regular sim.

Do you remember the Servos? And the Simbots from Ambitions? They were more simple and rustic than the Plumbots form ITF.
Maybe they could add a "branched" upgrade line. If you want a sim-looking robot, than you have to choose the "Android" branch (Androids are humanoid robots or synthetic organism), but if you wanted a more robotic looking one, you must choose the "Mechanoid" branch (Mechanoid could mean that they are more mechanic looking).
I think both of us would win if it was like that. :D

I don't think you have even read what I posted above.
That's exactly what I am proposing here. Humanoid robots don't even exist until you have earned the ability to make one. You start with simple robots.
