Sims 4 Getaway -- Vacation EP

Just wanted to put this idea out there for an EP.

Sims 4 Getaway

3 unique destinations; destinations can be disabled or not installed (similar to Sims 2 where you didn't have to load all three vacation destinations or universities)

Includes Seasons

Destination 1: Mountain resort

Visitors can stay in cabins or for cheaper accommodations camp in tents (cabins only during winter); make own meals
Good weather activities include: bonfire singalongs and ghost stories, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire (with chances of either getting burned), hunting for unique plants and collectables to take home, additional fishing opportunities, log rolling, new games for family including hide and seek and tag
Snow activities include snowboarding, snowman building, snowball fights, ice skating, ice hockey practice(?)
Hot chocolate machine -- children able to drink hot chocolate if a Teen or up makes it

Destination 2: Beach resort

Visitors stay in hotels, eat at hotel restaurant
Activities include beach volleyball, relaxing on beach, surfing and snorkeling (if possible), searching for collectables like seashells, more fishing, pool activities like pool volleyball or basketball, Marco Polo, diving boards. No snow in beach resort but could get a lot of rain so indoor activities like watching movies, playing games (board game table), or just greater chance of Bored mood

Destination 3: Lost Wages

Vegas-style resort, with all the glitz and glamour that accompanies it. Would cost the most to visit. Sims stay in luxury hotels and eat in fancy restaurants. Gambling (either with robotic dealers like in Sims 3 or with NPC dealers) including poker, blackjack, slot machines. Lots of entertainment options; Sims in entertainment careers or with musical/comedy skill could earn lots of tip money there. Not much for kids or teens to do so they'd be more likely to be bored. No real fishing or outdoor activities; maybe some unique crystals or other collectables that could be sold for extra money.

Any thoughts?

I remember how disappointed folks were that there were no seasons/weather in the World Adventure locations. Including Seasons with a vacation pack takes care of that issue, and enables more flexibility especially with the mountain resort (can be used year-round). There are ski resorts that operate in the summer months by using the lifts to transport hikers to the top of the hills and they can hike their way down; I saw one on TV that was also used for a BMX bike event (now that would be a cool sport to add to Sims 4 if it's feasible in the programming!).

Vacations could even be related to traits; Snob Sims would hate the mountain resort and love Lost Wages, while Loves Outdoors Sims would hate Lost Wages (both could have constant Tense moods when they're in the place they hate). Would have to go through the Trait list and see which traits would take to which place. There could be a Homesick moodlet that makes Sims a little bit Sad if they stay on vacation too long, and maybe Family-oriented Sims traveling without family (like a couple going to Lost Wages leaving the kids at home) would be more likely to get that moodlet.

I love this thread thank you for bringing it up Stilljustme2. I would be all for a ski-resort mountain getaway in seasons. but I don't want a mountain destination to show up in a vacations simply because I would rather see snow and skiing. Now, if they were to do both I'd have no issues with that but then there would be less variety. As you mention though these destinations do include seasons, so it's perfect.

Love it love it love it! It feels like the TS1 version, you know they had the snow resort, wood and beach getaways. I love 'Lost Wages' I hope they do try this. I never did download the casino store stuff on TS3 as I was skint and I kind of regret it. This is the sort of Vacations/World Adventures/Bon Voyage type of Expansion Pack I think most Simmers want. An actual holiday EP.

Throw in an Open For Business EP before or after that'll then give you a chance to run your own hotel (like Island Paradise) and I think I'd be in heaven for a while. (Or am I asking for too much? :wink: )

TS2 had the tropical island, wood resort and Asian retreat, each with their own activities/dance. I thought it would make sense if it includes Seasons to combine the snow resort and woodland adventure into one location. Only thing we're missing is the Asian retreat, maybe there could be a 4th destination or that could be in another pack with the addition of yoga or tai chi and of course meditation.

(BTW, Lost Wages is what my husband calls Las Vegas...as did his late father. So that's where that came from...)

I feel since we had the Asian retreat/idea in both TS2 and TS3 I would much rather have the 'Lost Wages' in it's place, no more peace! It's the 21st century we must spend, spend, spend! I love the name, a thumbs up, it couldn't be more suiting for Vegas. :)

I love these! It's a great range of places. And it would be cool if you could live in the places and work in their tourist industries too. And if you could have settings that stopped Sims from World X crossing to World Y, if you wanted to keep them feeling more separate.

Great ideas! I'd like the Vegas styled venue as well, and the camping in the woods.

For the tropical, I have always envisioned some place exotic like the Maldives.

It'd be great to bring home little souvenirs from these places too. And I would love it if we get the ability to hang pictures they take too.
