The Sims is literally the only thing that distracts me from my chronic pain so I do not want to be reminded about it in the game thanks! Plus I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be able to represent my condition to a satisfactory level. I mean how do you, as a game developer, code a Sim dislocating random joints every few days? (I don’t dislocate every few days but realistically that’s what it would end up being in the game to do some kind of justice to EDS). I think most players would get frustrated with playing a Sim like that. It’s bad enough living everyday real life like that so why would you want to play like that?! It’s not fun! It’s hard work and incredibly frustrating. Disability should never be in the Sims. If you truly want to know what life is like with a disability all you have to do is ask! Personally I’m very open about what it’s like to live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - probably because it’s one of the very few things that I have to talk about!
Edit: That is assuming that they would add EDS, of course! Most people have never even heard of it so I sincerely doubt it which would make me feel or other fellow EDSers left out and underrepresented again…
